...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EST WEDNESDAY...

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of Coastal DownEast Maine, East Central Maine,
Eastern Maine, Interior DownEast Maine, and North Central
Maine, including the following areas, in Coastal DownEast
Maine, Coastal Hancock and Coastal Washington. In East Central
Maine, Central Penobscot. In Eastern Maine, Northern
Washington. In Interior DownEast Maine, Central Washington,
Interior Hancock, and Southern Penobscot. In North Central
Maine, Southern Piscataquis.

* Until 4 AM EST Wednesday

* Total Rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 2.25 inches combined with
snowmelt will result in rises on area rivers and streams. Ice
jams remain frozen in place from the previous thaw, such as
the Kenduskeag Stream, Piscataquis and Pleasant Rivers. The
rain and snowmelt may allow ice jams to move and jam up
further downstream tonight. In addition, there is the
potential for new ice jams to form.

* Water levels can change abruptly when ice jams are occurring.
Remember to never drive through water covered roads.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop. Please report
any flooding to the National Weather Service.
